The PTA is the Parent Teacher Association.
PTA Mission Statement
The Utah PTA will help every child realize his full potential and will:
Advocate: Support and speak on behalf of children and youth.
Involve: Encourage positive involvement in all facets of a child’s life.
Develop: Assist in developing skills to raise and protect children and youth.
What is the PTA? Why join the PTA? The first reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. Your membership means participation in and support for our programs and activities. But there are many more PTA advantages:
Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
Discover Great Resources. The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.
Tap into a Network. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, build rapport and discuss issues on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.
Watch Yourself Grow. Volunteering with your PTA puts your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause — your child and all children in the community.
Speak Up. PTA can be a way for you to suggest change at your child’s school more effectively.
Witness Improvement. You'll be part of the solution by getting involved at your child’s school and help make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role in fundraising, providing building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events.
Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you’ll demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education.
Enjoy Substantial Benefits. Individuals and local units can take advantage of a host of benefits from PTA membership, including discounts and offers from benefit providers and sponsors, magazine subscriptions, leadership training, e-newsletters, and many other discounts on purchases and services. To see a complete list of benefit providers, go to the national PTA website pta.org/member_benefit_providers.asp.
Become a PTA member and join more than 5 million other people who share your interest in children's issues. PTA membership is for EVERYONE — parents, guardians, students, grandparents, relatives, friends, educators, teachers, staff, community businesses, and other citizens active in their schools and communities (anyone interested in helping students at Eastwood Elementary) — is invited to join our not-for-profit parent association. Because we believe in the mission and goals of the Eastwood Elementary PTA, we would like to see participation from every household and teacher in our school. Because the success of our mission and efforts of the Eastwood Elementary PTA are directly related to the levels of participation we achieve, we encourage both parents to join and any other interested parties to.
